Install in five steps

  1. Download the file

    Tap Download Sika. If your browser warns that this type of file can harm your device, tap Download anyway. The warning appears for every app that is not distributed through a store.

  2. Open it

    When the download finishes, tap Open, or find the file in your Downloads folder. There is nothing to unzip.

  3. Allow the install once

    Android asks whether your browser may install apps. Tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source, return, and tap Install. This is a one-time permission.

  4. If Google Play Protect asks

    Tap Scan app or Install anyway. Sika is new and not yet known to Google, which is all the message means.

  5. Open Sika

    Choose a name, add a friend by QR code or link, and start a conversation.

Updates

When a new version is ready, Sika tells you inside the app. One tap downloads it from this site, checks it, and installs it. Your account and conversations stay as they are.

Verify the file

The SHA-256 shown above is the fingerprint of the file we published. On a computer, run sha256sum on the downloaded file and compare. If the values differ, do not install the file and tell us.

iPhone and computers

The iPhone app is not available yet. Apps for Windows and Linux are being tested and are not offered for download yet. The Mac app follows the iPhone app.
