Sika

Early access for Android

Your conversations. Your keys. Your Sika.

Sika is a messenger for family, friends, work and community. Every message is encrypted on your phone. The servers that carry it cannot read it.

Start with a name. No phone number and no email required.

Made for everyday life

Family, friends, work, community and the market. Sika is for all of it.

Two friends laughing as they read messages on their phones at a street cafe
Friends, wherever they are.
A grandmother, a mother and a teenager laughing together over one phone
Family, three generations in one group.
A market trader hands a wrapped cloth to a customer who holds a phone
Trade, with an order card and escrow inside the chat.

A messenger that works for you, not around you

Seven decisions that make Sika different.

  1. 01

    Private by design

Messages, photos, files and call audio are encrypted before they leave your phone. Servers carry and wake. They never read.

  2. 02

    Built for groups

Groups of up to 1,024 people with roles, announcements, mentions, polls, and invite links with QR codes.

  3. 03

    Voice calls

Voice calls to contacts and group members, in early testing. Only people you know can ring you. Ringing a closed phone is still being built.

  4. 04

    Files without friction

Send photos, videos, voice notes and documents up to 2 GB. Recipients see a preview first and download only what they choose.

  5. 05

    Trade with confidence

Agree a sale in the conversation and let SikaPay escrow hold the order steps between buyer and seller.

  6. 06

    In your language

English, Français, Kiswahili, Hausa and Arabic, with full right-to-left support. More are planned.

  7. 07

    Made for real networks

Messages wait for a route and travel through nearby phones or the relay. Careful with your data on slow and expensive connections.

What you can do today

The early access build already feels like the messenger you know.

Reply, react, edit

Swipe a message to reply. React with any emoji, edit a message for 15 minutes, or forward it.

Voice notes

Press and hold to record, slide to cancel or lock. Pause while recording and play back at 1x, 1.5x or 2x.

Keep order

Pin chats, archive them, add your own labels, search every message, mute or block.

Stay safe

PIN lock, safety numbers to verify a contact, and an encrypted backup you can restore on a new phone.

Any screen

A layout for phones and one with the chat list beside the open chat on tablets and computers.

Your picture

Add a profile picture and an About line. Only your contacts receive them.

What is coming next

Plans, not promises. We build in this order and tell you when something is ready.

  • Sign-up by phone number or email, and finding friends from your contacts.
  • Video calls and group calls.
  • Stories and status, channels and communities.
  • Windows and Linux apps for your computer, then iPhone and Mac.

When a new feature needs our servers to know more than they do today, we say so on the Privacy Policy and Security pages before it reaches you.

What the servers can and cannot see

Sika uses servers only where a feature needs them. The rule does not change.

Never

Message text, photos, files, call audio or your keys.

As little as possible

That one key sent sealed mail to another key, its size and its time. Kept briefly, never sold.

Your decision

Feedback is optional, and the app shows exactly what accompanies it.

Read the Privacy Policy or the security overview.

Questions

Is Sika free?

The early access app is free to download and use. We will tell you plainly before anything changes.

Do I need a phone number?

No. You start with a name and a key created on your phone. Phone number and email invitations are planned as an option for finding friends.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Android comes first, and the iPhone app follows once Android is solid.

Is there a computer version?

Windows and Linux apps are being tested and are not available to download yet. The Mac app follows the iPhone app.

Is Sika on the Play Store?

Not yet. During early access you download it here, and the app tells you when a new version is ready. The Play Store follows once early feedback has shaped the product.

How do I report a problem or share an idea?

Use the feedback page or Settings inside the app. Security concerns go to our disclosure program.
